Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, the federal finance minister, presided over a meeting to examine the status of the Hajj Scheme-2023.

A press release from here on Saturday said that Mufti Abdul Shakoor, the Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Tariq Mehmood Pasha, the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Revenue, the Secretary for Religious Affairs, the Special Secretary for Finance, and senior officers from the Ministries of Finance and Religion all attended the meeting.

In addition, 72869 applications were received at banks, compared to the 44190 quota for the government’s standard scheme.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Intercultural Harmony also gave information on the required foreign cash for the Hajj in 2023.

The Chair requested that correct and reconciled statistics describing the total number of applications received under the Regular Scheme be acquired from the banks by Tuesday, April 4, 2023.

After receiving the essential information, the government will examine and decide the precise number of intending candidates for the Regular Hajj Scheme-2023.

According to Pakistan’s Finance Minister, Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar, the Pakistani government would make the Hujjaj as simple as possible because performing the Hajj is a religious necessity.
