According to a Wednesday report from Geo News, the body of killed senior journalist Arshad Sharif has arrived in Islamabad. The plane carrying his body landed at Islamabad Airport early Wednesday morning.
Sharif was shot and killed by Kenyan police on the evening of Sunday, October 23, in what the country’s officials described as a “mistaken identity” shooting just outside Nairobi.
Arshad Sharif’s family members were gathered at the airport in Islamabad. The cops then returned his body to his relatives.
The body was kept in the mortuary of the Quaid-e-Azam International Hospital. Friends and family of Arshad Sharif were still there in the mortuary.
On Thursday at 2:00 PM, the funeral prayer will be recited in the Shah Faisal Mosque. He will be laid to rest in the H-11 cemetery in the nation’s capital.
After spending so much time waiting outside the sealed gates, the journalist’s family expressed their displeasure with the government, claiming that the press community is a witness to the cruelty.

Kenyan Police Account Of Arshad Sharif’s Death
Kenyan police, who took responsibility, claimed Sharif was murdered when policemen looking for a stolen automobile opened fire on the journalist’s car, mistaking it for a stolen vehicle. According to a police complaint from Kenya, the vehicle drove straight through a guarded barricade, sparking concerns that a youngster was inside.
Government Is In Contact With Kenyan Officials: FO
According to the Pakistani Foreign Office, the government is actively coordinating with Kenyan authorities at all levels to expedite the repatriation of Sharif’s lifeless body.
Pakistan has also urged that Kenya investigate the incident.
Acting Foreign Secretary Raza Bashir Tarar met with Kenyan High Commissioner in Islamabad to emphasise the gravity of the situation.
Tarar also briefed the eminent members of the National Assembly Foreign Relations Committee on the latest developments.
