Aur Sunao - Dar Promises To Ease The Import Of Raw Materials To Satisfy Export Needs

The federal minister of finance, Ishaq Dar, has promised to making it easier to import components, accessories, and raw materials in order to meet the demands of the export sector.

His words came after reports from many media outlets and business circles that hundreds of containers containing raw materials, food staples, and medical supplies had been delayed at Karachi port due to the country’s grave foreign exchange situation.

According to Abdul Majeed, a spokesman of the All Pakistan Customs Agents Association, he has been in this industry for 40 years and has never experienced a worse era.

While shipping companies received $48 million in detention fees from importers for these stranded containers, importers claimed that 6000 containers of pulses were kept at the ports due to a cash shortage in the country.

Ishaq Dar remarked on Twitter on Monday that “our administration considers the export business among its highest priority. The five (previously) Zero Rated Export Oriented Sectors and all other Exporters will receive complete facilitation for the import of raw materials, components, and accessories to meet their export requirements.
