A helium-filled balloon will rise from Dubai later this month, offering yet another tourist attraction for the city’s thrill-seekers.
The “Dubai Balloon” would be on Aquaventure Beach in Atlantis, The Palm, which is on the outskirts of Palm Jumeirah. It will be 300 metres tall, making it visible from afar and providing visitors with the greatest view of the city.
Regular passes for 10-minute balloon trips cost Dh175 for adults and Dh75 for children. Fast pass tickets are available for Dh275 for adults and Dh125 for children, and include a free coffee, tea, or soft drink at the Dubai Balloon lounge. According to Khaleej Times, it is free for children under the age of three, and wheelchairs and strollers with no weight limitations are accepted.
The exhilarating ride is available from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and from 9 a.m. to midnight Friday through Sunday. Views include the man-made palm tree island, Aquaventure, The Pointe’s largest fountain show, the Burj Al Arab, Ain Dubai, and even the Burj Khalifa and Downtown cityscape when the weather is clear.
Clair Aichhorn, general manager of The Dubai Balloon, expressed her eagerness to welcome everyone to try this brand-new experience and soar over their beautiful city.
He was very delighted with the project and “the people that worked hard to produce something remarkable that will redefine the city skyline and promote Dubai as a destination,” he stated.
For those who want to fully immerse themselves in the experience, private charters and venue leases are also available. These can be used to commemorate special occasions such as birthdays or to propose to loved ones 300 metres in the air.
