According to limited-overs coach Matthew Mott, Jos Buttler is anxious to return from injury for England’s seven-match series in Pakistan, but the squad will not take any chances with the batsman so close to the T20 World Cup.
Buttler is yet to play in the series as he recovers from a calf injury sustained while competing in The Hundred, a squad captained by Moeen Ali.
From October 16 to November 13, Australia will host the World Cup.
According to Mott, Jos Buttler is still healing and is not a man we want to take a chance on this close to the World Cup, and the injury he got was not minor.
As a result, he is hungry for a game, but we will wait and see how things go before giving him a chance in one or two of the last games.
The series is now tied at 2-2 after Wednesday’s fifth game in Lahore.
