The Delhi Police issued a summons to actress Jacqueline Fernandez on Sunday, asking her to appear before the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) on September 19 for interrogation in the money laundering case involving con artist Sukesh Chandrashekhar.
Earlier, the actress was interrogated for eight hours at the EOW headquarters.
Fernandez was named as a suspect by the Enforcement Directorate. According to reports, despite knowing about Sukesh’s criminal history, the actress continued to speak with him.
“However, ED’s approach appears to be highly mechanical and driven,” Jacqueline said in a petition to the PMLA Appellate Authority. Jacqueline was named as one of the celebrities who received gifts from Sukesh and invited to testify.
This clearly indicates the investigation’s mollified, motivated, and biassed attitude, as she continued: “This cannot be disregarded.”
“Jacqueline Fernandez has further difficulties because she did not end her relationship with Sukesh Chandrashekhar despite knowing about his criminal background,” Special Commissioner EOW Ravinder Yadav told ANI.
According to ETimes, Nora Fatehi did disconnect herself if she got suspicious about anything.
