The “Pass Track” initiative simplifies the declaration of foreign currency by travellers. The Federal Board of Revenue, or FBR, has developed new software to assist international travellers with money disclosure.
The “Pass Track” tool was created to make money declaration, which is now mandatory of everyone carrying foreign currency, easier and faster.
Anyone travelling abroad with foreign cash can now easily download the FBR Pass Track software and specify how much they are carrying.
According to FBR Member Customs (Operations) Mukarram Jan Ansari, who addressed at the inaugural event in the FBR House, the government has revised the cash-carrying limitations for abroad travellers.
In addition to the FBR, the State Bank of Pakistan has stated that anyone carrying foreign currency must now register with customs.
Pakistan’s Customs has received assistance from the National Information Technology Board in designing the application (NITB).
The app had already been tested, but it is now available to the general public. The app is available in both the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. In addition to these two options, the application has a web version.
The declaration form is available in both Urdu and English, and every new user can fill it out when they register with their mobile number.
To make travelling easier for users, the application includes a feedback mechanism and a step-by-step tutorial.
