Government Increases Petrol Price By Rs10 Per Liter

The federal government raised the price of fuel by Rs10 per litre on Saturday, increasing it to Rs282 per litre.

The increase was revealed by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, who said that the government had only raised the price by Rs10 per litre. But the prices for high-speed and low-speed gasoline will stay the same, he said.

The higher price will go into effect on April 16.

The Finance Division noted in a statement that increased petroleum prices in the international market and exchange rate variation were to blame for the price hike on petroleum commodities.

A statement from the Finance Division says that the price of petrol has gone up to Rs282 per litre, while the prices of high-speed diesel and light diesel oil have stayed the same at Rs293 and Rs174.68 per litre, respectively.

The price of kerosene oil has risen from Rs180.28 per litre to Rs186.07 per litre, an increase of Rs5.78 per litre.
