ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony said on Friday that it will return Rs 55,000 as the “Qurbani amount” to both regular and sponsorship plan pilgrims prior to their departure for Saudi Arabia for the Hajj.
According to a ministry news release, this decision was made in accordance with the precise instructions of Senator Muhammad Talha Mehmood, Minister of Religious Affairs.
The government recommended pilgrims taking part in both sponsored and regular programs to withdraw Rs 55,000 from each bank before leaving for Hajj, since they would not get reimbursed in Saudi Arabia.
It was said that the Saudi government-run Qurbani booths would be located near government mansions, making the purchase of the vouchers straightforward.
It was indicated that if there were any problems or challenges in receiving the Qurbani payment, they might immediately contact the ministry’s accounts officer at 0519208552.
