Kamran Tessori Has Been Appointed As Sindh Governor

  • Permission was granted in accordance with Article 101 of Pakistan’s Constitution.
  • Sindh’s governorship has been vacant for more than five months.
  • Ismail resigned as governor of Sindh after Imran Khan was removed from office in April.

President Arif Alvi’s approval of Mohammad Kamran Tessori’s summary for the position of governor of Sindh was a significant milestone.

The governorship of Sindh has been vacant since Imran Ismail of the PTI stepped down five months ago. Ismail resigned as governor of Sindh after Imran Khan was deposed as Prime Minister in April 2022.

According to specifics, Pakistan’s president consented in accordance with Article 101 of the Pakistani Constitution.

Tessori was recently re-inducted into MQM-P. Many party members had expressed their opposition to the action, sparking controversy.

Tessori was re-inducted into the MQM-P as deputy convener on September 9 during a meeting presided over by the party’s convener, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui.

However, other senior party leaders who were not present at the meeting slammed it. They openly expressed their displeasure with the party’s selection.

Tessori was the main source of contention between former MQM-P leader Farooq Sattar and other party officials, which resulted in the latter’s expulsion from the party.

Sattar was removed as convener of the MQM-P coordination committee due to his insistence on giving Tessori the party ticket in a by-election.

Sattar later formed the MQM Restoration Committee, a new party division.
