Tessori was recently re-inducted into MQM-P. Many party members had expressed their opposition to the action, sparking controversy.
Tessori was re-inducted into the MQM-P as deputy convener on September 9 during a meeting presided over by the party’s convener, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui.
However, other senior party leaders who were not present at the meeting slammed it. They openly expressed their displeasure with the party’s selection.
Tessori was the main source of contention between former MQM-P leader Farooq Sattar and other party officials, which resulted in the latter’s expulsion from the party.
Sattar was removed as convener of the MQM-P coordination committee due to his insistence on giving Tessori the party ticket in a by-election.
Sattar later formed the MQM Restoration Committee, a new party division.
