Meta Begin Paid Subscription Service For Verification On Facebook And Instagram

Following in the footsteps of Twitter, Meta is considering establishing monthly subscription services for Facebook and Instagram that will provide users with blue tick verification.

The new Meta Verified membership will be available in Australia and New Zealand later this week, with Meta declaring its aim to make the service available “to the rest of the world soon”.

The monthly subscription, which costs $11.99 / AU$19.99 (about £10) on the web and $14.99 / AU$24.99 (approximately £13) on iOS and Android, includes features oriented mostly towards producers looking to quickly climb the Facebook and Instagram success ladder.

According to Meta, there are five major benefits of subscribing to Meta Verified. You will first be given a validated badge, which you must return to Meta along with a piece of formal documentation, such as a passport, for authentication.

Because of certain harsh economic realities, such as diminishing advertising revenue and the ramifications of Apple’s inconvenient “ask app not to monitor” privacy feature, Meta has been forced to provide a monthly membership for Facebook and Instagram, as it did for Twitter.
