Mufti Taqi Usmani Declares Fatwa, Opposes Any “Jihad” Against Government

Aur Sunao - Mufti Taqi Usmani Declares Fatwa, Opposes Any "Jihad" Against Government

Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani, a respected scholar, issued a Fatwa rejecting all “Jihad” against the government of Pakistan.

He emphasised plainly that any violent action against the state of Pakistan is a rebellion and is prohibited by Islamic law, almost addressing the Paigham-e-Pakistan National Conference on “Countering Violent Extremism, Radicalism, and Hate Speech, which was held in Islamabad.

Armed hostile actions against the state in the name of ‘jihad’ constitute ‘haram,’ and hence constitute an unfair, unjustifiable rebellion, he claims.

According to Mufti Taqi Usmani, the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, which is involved in anti-state activities and is fighting the Pakistani Army, are rebels.

The judgement was unanimously endorsed by every Ulema and Mashaykh present at the gathering, representing all schools of thought.

Fighting against government security forces and engaging in anti-state activities, according to Mufti Taqi Usmani, are acts of mutiny and have nothing to do with jihad.
