KARACHI: The Pakistan Cricket squad will wear a specially designed uniform for the first T20I against England on Tuesday to express sympathy for flood victims in Pakistan.
One-third of the country has been devastated by the flood, which has affected 33 million people and taken over 1,500 lives.
To demonstrate solidarity for flood victims, the Pakistani team will wear jerseys with player names and shirt numbers partially submerged.
According to a PCB representative from Pakistan, this design was created to demonstrate sympathy for people affected by the catastrophe.
The PCB earlier said that all gate earnings from the first T20I will go to the Prime Minister’s Flood Relief Fund.
Pakistan skipper Babar Azam has urged supporters to attend the game and support the team.
The PCB also verified that the Sindh police had invited 300 flood victims to the first T20I in Karachi.
The Pakistan Cricket Board unveiled the official T20I shirt.
The kit’s colour palette is traditional green and yellow. The new outfit is known as the “Thunder Jersey.”
