Nida Dar of Pakistan would be part of the Women’s T20 International Team of the Year 2022. (ICC), According to the International Cricket Council.

Nida Dar, Pakistan’s senior off-spinner, had one of her best seasons in 2022, collecting 15 wickets in T20Is at an average of 18.33 and an economy rate of 5.50. Dar played an important part in each of her 14 T20I matches, only going wicketless in three of them.

The all-rounder was at her best when Pakistan beat India in the Women’s Asia Cup, scoring 56* off 37 balls with the bat and taking 2/23 with the ball to earn Player of the Match honours.

The off-29 spinner’s 29 wickets were tied for third-most in women’s T20Is this year. Deepti batted quite well and averaged 18.55 with the ball, with an economy rate of slightly over six.

She scored 370 runs in T20Is this season, averaging 37 runs per game. Her strike rate for the format was 136.02, much above her career average of 106.39 runs per game. Her 13 wickets earned her the title of Player of the Tournament in the Women’s Asia Cup in Bangladesh. She set the tone in the final match against Sri Lanka with a frugal spell of 4-0-7-0 after taking the new ball.

Nida Dar has been chosen to the ICC T20 Women’s Team of the Year for the second time after being a member of the team in both 2018 and 2019.

The ICC Women’s T20I Team of the Year 2022 includes Smriti Mandhana of India, Beth Mooney of Australia, Sophie Devine of New Zealand, Tahlia McGrath of Australia, Nida Dar of Pakistan, Deepti Sharma of India, Richa Ghosh of India, Sophie Ecclestone of England, Inoka Ranaweera of Sri Lanka, and Renuka Singh of India.
