KARACHI: On November 30 at 10 a.m., a seminar will be conducted at the FPCCI headquarters in Clifton, Karachi, to discuss and review the country’s efforts to eliminate the riba system.
This conference on riba will be co-hosted by the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the Centre of Islamic Economics (CIC). The event will feature presentations from senior bankers, economists, and business leaders, including CIC Chairman Mufti Taqi Usmani.
According to Shabeer Mansha, vice president of the FPCCI, the business sector praised the Federal Shariat Court’s judgment and, later, Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar’s determination to abolish the riba system. He added that in order to make a strategy and growth in this area feasible, a seminar to gather expert feedback was now required.
Former FPCCI president and current KP governor is highly interested in the seminar and will fly to Karachi to attend. A big number of Ulemas will also attend the session.
