WhatsApp, the world’s most popular instant messaging software, has now introduced the ability to retrieve accidentally deleted messages. According to a June 2022 report, WhatsApp engineers were working on a feature that would allow users to restore accidentally deleted chats.

WhatsApp frequently releases a slew of new upgrades all at once. Customers can now remove a text message made or received by another person in the past, courtesy to the tech giant. Previous speculations suggested that the IT behemoth was striving to improve the feature.
According to recent rumors, WhatsApp has just released an update that contains a new tool for restoring deleted messages. According to WABetaInfo on Twitter, the update has been issued to a small number of beta users.
What Exactly Does It Do?
According to insiders, the new update with the ability to undo has begun to be distributed via Google Play’s beta version. Users using the functionality can retrieve deleted conversations using the “undo” option. However, there is a problem. The user can only recover deleted texts by selecting “delete for myself” rather than “delete for everyone.”
Furthermore, users will not have much time to restore deleted chats. According to the story, WhatsApp will provide users a limited time window to access the communication. The tool is currently only available to a select group of beta testers, but it is expected that WhatsApp will make it widely available in the coming weeks.
WhatsApp will shortly expand the time limit for removing any discussion messages from one hour, eight minutes, and sixteen seconds to two days. According to speculations, WhatsApp’s “delete text” feature was inspired by this.
The text can now be erased using the platform’s “Delete for me” and “Delete for everyone” buttons. The goal is to broaden these options while also providing some new ones that can perform more traditional jobs.
Other messaging apps, such as Snapchat, figured out this strategy long before WhatsApp because they always had the option to erase messages, and they just added the ability to remove sent snaps.
