Whatsapp Services Started Up Again, After A Worldwide Outage

Aur Sunao - Whatsapp Services Started Up Again, After A Worldwide Outage

The WhatsApp messaging app’s services have begun to resume after a more than hour-long outage, according to WABetaInfo, a website that tracks the app’s progress.

WhatsApp users in India, Pakistan, the United Kingdom, South Africa, and Asia have reported issues sending and receiving texts and videos.

“Certain messages may finally be marked as delivered right now for certain people,” the WhatsApp watcher noted, “but WhatsApp is still down for millions of users.”

The programme has evolved into a critical communication tool in both the home and the workplace. Whatsapp’s hours-long outage in October disrupted asset trading, including bitcoin and oil, before traders shifted to alternative platforms such as Telegram.

Earlier today, a representative for Meta platforms, WhatsApp’s parent company, told Reuters that the company is aware that certain users are now experiencing issues sending messages and is working to quickly restore WhatsApp for everyone.

Users were having issues using the service about 12:17 PST, according to the tracking website Downdetector, prompting the outage to be reported.

Downdetector keeps track of outages by aggregating status information from multiple sources, including user-submitted problems on its site. There’s a potential that the outage affected more consumers.
